Academic and Career Planning

Academic and Career Planning

Academic and Career Planning is used to educate students about postsecondary education, training, and careers for life after high school based on the student’s strengths and interests. ACP helps to promote self awareness, critical thinking skills, and decision making skills. Students will work on their academic and career planning lessons monthly during ELT and will continue to be incorporated throughout the school day within classrooms or field trips. Lessons will need to be completed within a specific time frame. WFHS Academic and Career Plan is aligned with Wisconsin State Requirements.

There are 4 stages of the Academic and Career Planning Process

  • Stage 1 is “know”. In this stage students will get to know who they are, their interests, skills, and strengths.

  • Stage 2 is “explore”. In this stage students will learn where they want to go and to explore career pathways.

  • Stage 3 is “plan” In this stage students will plan how to reach their goal.

  • Stage 4 is “go”. In this stage students will execute their plan and recalculate as needed.
