The following students were chosen by their teachers for the month of January
Congratulations to Cali Gerbia for being nominated by Mr. Scherwinski for “Student of the Month”.
Cali does a phenomenal job of communicating when she is not in class. She takes ownership of her own academic success. She consistently produces high-quality work that goes above and beyond the requirements of each assignment. Cali also decided to challenge herself by participating in forensics this year. She will be competing in front of her peers in Poetry Reading to develop her public speaking skills.
Cali said she has never been chosen as “Student of the Month”. Honestly I don’t know what to say other than I am joyfully overwhelmed and “Thank you”! Cali’s favorite food is gold fish, favorite color is purple, favorite movie "Footloose", favorite hobby is writing, favorite book “Alice in Zombeland" and favorite class is English 10.
Cali's parents are Ginger Carpenter of Weyauwega and Sam Hyland of Iola.
Congratulations to Aurora Becher for being nominated by Mrs. Rice for the “Student of the Month”.
Mrs. Rice selected Aurora as student of the month, because she is a student I can always count on to offer her insight, participate during class discussion, display respect towards herself and others, and to take responsibility for her education. Aurora consistently has her work completed on time, gives full effort in her work, and demonstrates a genuine interest in progressing her English skills. She is a positive role model for her peers, as she contributes her ideas in class and comes to class everyday prepared and ready to learn.
Aurora is very honored to be nominated for student of the month. It’s nice to be recognized for what I do every day. Her favorite food is pizza, favorite color is blue, she likes any Disney movie, her favorite hobby is to read, favorite book is “Ink heart” and her favorite class is Art.
