Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joann Miller and while I may be new to you and your students, I am not new to the Weyauwega Fremont School District, or to the school counseling field. Eight years ago, I was the H.S. Guidance Counselor for Weyauwega-Fremont, but decided to resign to stay at home full time with my 3 children. Now that they are in school full time, I am happy to also be back in school working in a career that I am very passionate about.
My background includes some lengthy experience in counseling children and adolescents in schools, psychiatric facilities, and group homes. My experience has covered the metropolitan areas of Milwaukee and Janesville, with the past 11 years in the Waupaca and Weyauwega-Fremont area.
Being a mother and a counselor, I am a firm believer in giving positive support through encouragement and preparation. I will be meeting with students individually, in classroom settings, and through parent student meetings. Current 9th and 11th grade students and parents can expect to be invited to an individual planning meeting with myself in the late fall (for 9th grade) and early springtimes (for 11th grade). Of course if you are not in those grades and would like an individual meeting at any time, just let me know.
I am so excited to meet all of the students and work on preparing them for the future utilizing common core standards. Please feel free to contact me at my office or email. should you have any questions or concerns.
