My name is Douglas Nowak, your Elementary School Principal. I enjoy meeting the families of our school community and sharing an exciting and fulfilling school year.
Being a principal is a rewarding profession. Helping foster a child’s education at the ground level and creating a love of knowledge that can never be taken away. Elementary students are especially enjoyable to be around, their honesty and sincerity are unmatched. A new child in an elementary classroom need only to walk through the door and they have an entirely new circle of good friends. Before becoming a Principal, I taught Reading at Denmark Elementary School, and Reading and Physical Education at the Waupaca Learning Center. Rest assured the staff and I take great pride in the responsibility of getting your children off to a great start in their education. We will employ sound fundamental strategies in reading, writing, and mathematics, and we will work to instill values of citizenship into their daily lives. I encourage family and friends to become involved in your school and help make a difference in a child’s life.
My preparation in education began as an undergraduate at UW-Stevens Point, followed by a Master’s Degree in Education where I earned a Reading Teacher license. To become licensed as a Principal, I completed a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Marian University. My wife, Karen, teaches at Waupaca High School; and our daughter, Victoria, attends there as well.
Please stop in and say hello when you are in the buildings. I look forward to answering any questions you may have about your school, and meeting the families of my students.
