Dream Flight Shuttle Bus

The Spirit of Education Dream Flight Shuttle Bus will be landing at Weyauwega Elementary on April 25th. Dream Flight will be traveling to our school from its launch pad in Mosinee, Wisconsin. Its mission is to motivate children to learn about space and our solar system.  5th graders of Weyauwega and Fremont Elementary will have the unique opportunity to participate in the hands-on experiences that Dream Flight has to offer. Students may learn how to operate a robotic arm, fix the Hubble telescope, locate constellations, and design a space station. Watch for pictures!

No TV Week May 5-9

No TV week is an annual, nationwide celebration where children, families, schools, and communities are encouraged to turn off TV’s and turn on life. Why? Children spend too much time watching TV; an average of 32 hours per week for preschoolers. The average increases with age. Time spent watching TV is linked to poor school performance, childhood obesity, and attention problems.

Weyauwega Elementary school invites your family to take the No TV week challenge!! Are YOU up to the challenge??

Each night your child will be bringing home a “No TV week activity sheet”. If you choose to participate, simply complete the activity and return the sheet to school the next day. All signed and returned sheets will be entered to win a grand prize. Grand Prizes will be picked daily. Activities for the week include:

Thursday- Sunday (May 1-May 4) We are giving you a little extra time for this one: Plan and help cook a meal for your family. Activity sheet is due Monday May 5th.

Tuesday May 6th- Come fish with us at Gills Landing!!  Come and join us! Win prizes! No need to return an activity sheet to school Wednesday.

Wednesday May 7th- Complete the outdoor scavenger hunt. Return scavenger hunt sheet to school Thursday May 8th.
